Clinical supervision

A walk in the park. © H. RogersWhen you cannot see the wood for the trees, supervision helps you to unpick themes and to find a way forward in the clinical work. It is place to reflect about what your clients bring to you and how it manifests in the therapeutic relationship and in the transference and countertransference. Supervision can assist you to see potential links between what is happening in the room, the organisation, and the wider socio-political, cultural, and religious context. Ultimately it is there to support you, so that you feel better equipped to hold whatever clients bring to you.

My approach to supervision is broadly psychodynamic and systemic. As movement therapist I incorporate a range of creative arts methods for child, adolescent and adult psychotherapy and counselling supervision. These include tools from psychodrama, music, play, the arts, movement, and systemic approaches. I pay attention to somatic elements as reflected in the physical presentation of client and supervisee, as well as somatic transference and countertransference. Supervision is offered across modalities and for supervisees who see a wide range of patients with different presentations and of different age groups.

Individual supervision sessions last 50 minutes. Group supervision sessions are 90 min in duration.
